Carreg-Y-Big

Carreg-Y-Big (The Big Stone) lies beyond the old Racecourse north of Oswestry just off a public footpath (map refreence SJ256328). The stone has badly weathered, there is a chunk of it on the ground, and you can see where freeze-thaw errosion will eventually cause the stone to split in about twenty years time. The stone has been placed there as the smaller stone packing around it shows.
