~ A Glastonbury Rhyme

Glastonbury Tor

The moon shone down on Glasonbury Tor

And what wonderous things those gathered there saw

Glastonbury Tor

'Twas Samhein night and the veil was weak

And ghouls and wizards stood on the peak

As the clock struck its midnight chime

A splendrous sight rewarded our climb

And from the tower of St. Michael's church

A brilliant beam of light did lurch

Glastonbury Tor

In awe we stood, our eyes cast high

Into the glowing torch-lit sky

And after all the thrills and ghostly fright

'Twas a perfect end to Halloween night
